Creative Circle

The past couple of Wednesdays in our creative circle we have been playing in alcohol inks. They are interesting. I used them mainly on old photograph paper cut into small'ish sizes. . . they have become fun and unique greeting cards, that I hope to offer for sale at the Gallery at the Madeley come August and perhaps in November / December as well. Why yes of course there will be video, this coming Friday on my YouTube Channell - APG Jamie, if the editing and voice over'ing work out. ah who am I kidding we know it will come out {cross fingers & toes}

I also had an article accepted to a new online magazine, I will of course share more of that information as I can . . . more good news the piece I recently finished, Direction was used on Conroe Art League 's monthly Exhibit and reception announcement for July. Which y'all are welcome to attend

Creative Circle

That’s the Wednesday group I go to at the Gallery at the Madeley Building, home of the Conroe Art League. Last month (Feb / March) we played around with different types of clay and made silicone molds. It has been fun, but I have have been busy and not able to finish my clay tile projects. I have finished a Tool Can you may watch the video here, and the Silicone Mold process video can be found here.

But onto our last #CreativeCircle at #GalleryAtTheMadeley, we painted on rocks. Yes it’s all the rage again LoL. I’m pretty happy with the way mine came out . . .

She is titled - Rock'n the Joy

She is done with acrylic paints, got a wash of iridescent medium and has been varnished. No I don’t know what I’m going to do with it, she is as big as my hand and heavy (but not my brother) . . . will I do others you may ask . . . I don’t know, but I have a few little stones just in case I want to.

The main thing, for me, about this Creative Circle is that I’m getting out of my studio to actually ART LIVE with other LIVE people. It gives me the opportunity not only to maybe learn something but to teach some of what I know (?who knew I knew it?) . . . even if I’m not totally interested in doing the chosen activity . . . just saying because I’m honest that way.

ps this is the group formerly known as Where Art & Words Meet, so that’s the tag I’m still going to use, cause I feel like it . . . it’s my blog ya know.

So umm

at the Gallery at the Madeley, that would be our Art Gallery in Conroe. . . yes on Simonton an Art Journaling group has been started ~ Where Art & Words Meet. The plan is to meet Wednesdays at 11’ish. There is not a “teacher” we will just meet and hang out and journal as we please. Maybe share some techniques and exchange ideas and whatnotage. Because it’s just starting nothing is written in stone and the room is subject to classes, so maybe it won’t happen every every or every even Wednesday or that I will be there every time. But we have meet twice now and I have enjoyed it.

At the first meet up I purchased a handmade journal made by Karen and it’s beautiful. It measures 5 ¼ x 7 inches. I’ll try to show y’all in a video . . . when ???

I glued torn book pages on a double page spread, smeared some water soluble crayons on it and then turned my sights to drawing me. Because everybody else was doing it, and no matter what my age ~34~ I still want to belong. Ok so I was drawing ah, well, a sorta me. . . I think my initial drawing was a bit too small so I redid me a little bigger. LoL a larger me even, but in the end I have no feet lol – just free floating. La . La . La . but I like it . La . La . La.

So back to that 1^st spread – stencils & stamps were used, craft paints, sharpie, white pen & the quote was thunk up while I worked on the page . . .

When she dared to dream the scent of flowers bloomed. I love when that happens

And with summer now on the horizon, and by that I mean HERE NOW (between rain & lightning storms), I will have more free time for my own studio stuffs. Maybe I’ll even straighten it up and junk like that. I mean hey it can happen. So umm, yeah
