Paper Tattooing - Plus Give-Away

Yes, you read that right. I'm going to show you how to tattoo paper to make a standard 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" ATC.

Back story; My friend Geo mentioned using a removable tattoo on one of her ATCs a while back and that thought has sat in my brain ever since. Recently when the gettin-store had a package of these removable tats for sale as Christmas stocking stuffers I grabbed some for experimenting with. I suppose they are sort of like a sticker but not a sticker, well okay more like a cross between a decal and a sticker.

Here is my list of supplies: ATC base, small removable child's tattoo, small amount of water, other embellishments, some type of sealer (I used plain white glue). Remember that techniques work just about the same way whether you are doing an ATC or a Journal Page.

I'm going to make one with regular cardstock and one with acrylic painted cardstock, both work for me. Follow the directions for applying the tattoo to skin, only apply it to your paper (I used less water then called for). This particular type required some pressure, especially since I was using less water then was typical.

Plain card stock- applied the tattoo

Painted with acrylics a very basic snowy background

Applied the tattoo

I used the heat gun for a couple of minutes to dry them before I applied a light coating of white glue over the tattoos. I did this only because the tattoos were a tiny bit tacky to the touch, but you may not need to do this.

I went on to embellish the cards.

Now here's the really good part -- commenters will be entered to win one of these ATCs, there will be 2 winners of course. Be sure that your comment links back to you or at least let me how to contact you. Mention in your comment that you tweeted and you will have an extra chance to win. And better still have a third chance by bloging about this give away-please be sure to provide a link back to your blog post for everyone.

Entry Deadline December 23rd Midnight Central Time Zone (USA) Winners will be picked on December 24th.
I so hope you win!

Tips: use light colored background; This does not work on metalic, slick or textured backgrounds. Good Luck and let me know if you tried this.

EDIT- a Friend E-mailed saying she had issues with leaving a comment So if this happens to you just drop me an email at ArtistPoet.Girl at gmail dot com.

Ah, very cute! And what a good idea. I have a couple of these tattoos around somewhere I'll have to dig up. :)
