lets see, been doing stuff around the house, doing stuffs at the gallery, doing art, making videos, ignoring the blog'ages. Le Sigh

It's like I can only focus on a couple / three things at a time and not all the things I want to need to do. Like I hardly get on the twitter or facebook when I'm filming videos and I miss my online Arting community . . . the chat'age and whatnot'age

it feels like I'm doing so much and then it feels like I got nothing done. . . time is just so confusing

So I've

been busy (doh! OR is that duh!) haha. I’m sure y’all have seen the quick not so focused not so great photos (term used loosely) of #CaptureConroe. A little thing our Visitor Bureau has going on, they are going to pick out some of their favorites to use in marketing materials. So um yeah I really like my town and if I can I try to promote it. I typically upload them through InstaGram (apg_jamie) to FB (Jamie Lynn) and Twitter (@ArtistPoetGirl). ^5 self plugs ^5

 Speaking of the Conroe Visitor Bureau, y’all remember when I posted about being an “extra” in the film they were making??? well maybe I didn't post about it . . . maybe I tweeted it {shrugs} and (le Sighs) . . . anywhooos I made it through the editing portion and here is thatVideo. See if you can spot me HINT I’m visible in a few spots, all of which were at the #GalleryAtTheMadeley . It was fun to be in it and it’s a fun video to watch, just saying. OH and the music was written special for the video

I’ve been barely keeping up with making my weekly video (new ones uploaded Friday mornings 9-9:30 Central Time) the #ConroeArtLeague is having a fund raiser event (12x12 Gala) and along with that we are selling the ornaments off our #CAL Holiday Tree this year, additional fund raiser. So um if y’all get a change come on by, say hi and buy something. Be sure to tell ‘em I seet ya. (hey one can always use extra kiss up points)

Rejoyce Sardines Rejoyce

Let all Rejoyce, even those

dollied ladies that lounge about

laying under glasses of wine

next to fine platters

and plates of mustard sardines

Each having shiny arms

of sterling on either side

awaiting to slice and trim

to fussy cut them,

those tiny little savory sardines

Rejoyce in those tines

that fork over the flesh

for into the flesh it moves

See not black eyes or kissable lips

of molten colored koi

they still swim in soup bowls

watching sardines flip and slip

from plate to mouth

and down the gullet do plunge

Rejoyce for the truth

that is the jabberwocky

and pay with paper

the great Canadian Tire way

Excuse & it's a GOOD One

The reason for not having done this week’s Postcard – YET…

Child #7 (last one) moved out a few months ago…She is happy & doing ok. It’s hard but she is determined to make it. We are proud of her, howbeit we are normal parents … now having 7 adult children out there making their own way. Holly Carp ya know?

Sooo’s anyways finally I have gotten around to THE ROOM & finished boxing up her leftovers, that she will fetch “some day” …I have moved out broken & junked furniture,  patched holes, painted the ceiling, the walls, the doors, the trim – All in the color of Billowy Clouds. I have ripped up the carpet – the padding & hauled ‘em out, replaced the A/C vent, partly disassembled the ceiling fan ….

And TODAY I made curtains!

I love – Love – LOVE the fabrics. The pattern and colors of the simple dimple over curtains make me very happy…the shear is NOT shear, let’s call it an Under Curtain any who it is a light weigh (yeah right) Crushed Velvety fabric the color of lavender… I really like touching it.

I have been working on THE ROOM for 2 weeks and my part is done’ish. I AM TIRED 

Now my Super Fantastic Hubby gets to – buy carpet w/pad have it installed, buy a new ceiling fan install it and re-hang the closet bi-fold doors. !Hooray for Hubby!

Funny thing is he doesn’t know I have done any of this … what a surprise he’ll have when he gets home !TODAY! {wish me luck}

LoL or Not

I just love it when I get all involved in painting, don't you. You know getting all caught up in the zone so focused on what you are working on nothing and I mean nothing else matters. Ok so almost nothing...one does remember to drink maybe not eat but the water is there and that of course...well ya know. Back to the point in hand since last Thursday I have finished my big painting, except for the varnish and am looking forward to hanging it in our living room.

Meanwhile my interest in the bubbles/circles piece was rekindled and I have been adding color layer after layer. I won't tell you what the "surprise" will be with this one. But y'all know my love of all things texture so let me say it will be a bit bumpy.

Whats UP?

Lots of things were going on around and in the studio in November. I took some classes and am brainyer because of it. Did another MFA outing with my Art Appreciation group, post forth coming. I participated in the November Poem a Day as hosted by Poetics Asides; my selection for the Manuscript (MS) is currently under review by some trusted writer friends. Let's hope they find very little to shred to pieces. My family went on a Thanksgiving trip--Go SCAD! I have drawn and completed my Elephants for a Decorated Elephant Swap over at ATCs for All and a couple of other individual cards.

I have completed my essay for Les Herger, I'm letting it sit for a couple days before editing / revising and sending it in for hopeful acceptance.

Yes I have been enjoying the 21 Secrets Workshop...gotta love it. I know I have not done any journal page challenges from Art-it does a body good for a while (cross fingers I can get back to that). I have missed tons and tons of stuff from my Ustream crowds. I have made some fine facial soaps as gifts for close friends, put together a Christmas list and am awaiting the birth of our 9th grandchild.

So I guess it goes without saying that the rest of the time I spent sleeping or doing laundry. Oh and working on new irons to put in the fire for next year. I know, isn't that coming awfully fast?

Hey I know already!

That I have been somewhat neglecting this blog. But trust me, I said TRUST me I have very valid excuses.


I have been involved in a couple of ATC swaps over at ATCs for All. One is called Let's Get Messy, this one is where we are required to use our fingers only -- NO tools. Fun you should give it a try.

And the other is Design A Moose (Holiday Edition) the hostess provided a moose template and we, the players, design it for a Holiday. I picked Days that are special to my State's Heart...Go Texan Day, Flag Day and Texas Independence Day.

Not to mention that it is the annual Poem A Day Chapbook Challenge, hosted at Poetics Asides. The prompts are interesting this year and you don't have to use the prompt you can write a poem on your own, the point is to write a poem each day of this November month. There is a possible prize...We will have 1 month in which to polish our work (10-15 pages) submit it for the chance of Chapbook publishing. This is exciting stuff dear people.

Oh and not to mention, but I will, I'm still taking some classes and have some field trips to take and Thanksgiving and job hunting and the usual household junk to attend too.
