Dust Bowl Motel

Is a play at the Crighton Theater March 18 – 20. In conjunction with the play, Conroe Art League will be having a Themed Exhibit at the Madeley Art Gallery, 127 Simonton St. Conroe Texas. The gallery will the location for the After Parties on Friday and Saturday nights. The actors and play write will be meeting the attendees of the play, and a few of the exhibiting artist will be there as well.

The official Artist Reception is planned for Saturday the 19^th between 5-8 pm

How it looked with clouds – didn’t like it

I urge y'all (I try to remember too) to take a gray-scale photo . . . you can see the values without the colors getting in the way

here is the work I used for the frame , I left is sitting outside because stinky varnish smell & yeah why not make it I have a saw & junk & I wanted rustic. 

this as well as other pieces in the Exhibit will be available for purchase at the gallery and online at Conroe Art League.

Cross Post 12 x 12 WrapUP

The fundraising event was a smash. Conroe Art League (CAL) had a great turn out with great eats and drinks not to mention the wonderful art. People mingled, laughed and shared the love of art. The weather was clear and very breezy as the outdoor heater warmed our lovely courtyard and spirits warmed the occasion.

I was able to purchase a Mixed Media piece by Caryn Rock titled Progress Not Perfection. It is a beautiful stylized flower of lavenders to blues with a green dragonfly. I do love purples and dragonflies and it makes me happy. Then I was tickled to learn there had been a small bidding war for my piece, Tree’O. I am thrilled that it sold for the benefit of CAL as did my second piece, Owl’leen.

Thank you again to everyone that was able to make it out and to those that participated in the silent and live auctions.

There's Gonna be

A 12 x 12 Gala at the Art Gallery in the Madeley Building, Conroe Texas. What’s it all about you may ask. . . the Conroe Art League, of which I’m a member, is having a fund raiser. The league purchased 12 x 12 Claybords and members signed them out to do art on. I finished mine and asked if I could do another and yes was the answer so I actually did two. Yes I’ll show y’all, not now but soon. They are done but still need to be varnished after a good few days drying time.

The Exhibit will start November 4^th, a few of the 12 x 12’s will be selected for the Live Auction that will take place on November 21th at the Gala. The remaining pieces will be in the silent auction OR if someone wants there will be a Buy It Now, price.

Won’t be able to make for the Gala, no problem . . . Here is more good news Conroe Art League is now set up for Pay Pal and it’s looking as though online sales will be do’able. More on this as I get the information.

Recently one of my pieces, Jolene from the Two-29 series, made it into the paper. I am thrilled and very honored that my painting was used in conjunction with an article written by Maggie Gutierrez.
